MOSCOW, September 21, 2020 – The representative of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Technical Committee №30 «Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means» (TC 030) Nikolay Fayzrakhmanov, a member of one of the governing bodies of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) – Conformity Assessment Board – assigned by IEC as a representative on interaction between the Board and the Advisory Committee on Electromagnetic compatibility (ACEC).
The Advisory Committee on Electromagnetic compatibility considers all aspects of an equipment or system ability to function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without causing unacceptable electromagnetic interference to other equipment in that environment. The purpose of ACEC is to guide and coordinate the work of all international technical standardization committees related to electromagnetic compatibility issues in order to ensure consistency and avoid duplication and conflicting requirements in international standards.
The Advisory Committee on Electromagnetic compatibility maintains a list of all major types of electrical products covered by the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility in the IEC standards. The Committee also organizes seminars to ensure interaction between the IEC and industry on electromagnetic compatibility issues.
The assignment of the authority to carry out interaction between the IEC Conformity Assessment Board and the Advisory Committee on Electromagnetic Compatibility to a representative of the Russian Federation indicates, among other things, recognition of merits and success in the standardization of requirements for electromagnetic compatibility.
Today in Russia there are more than 70 standards that impose requirements for electromagnetic compatibility of technical means, and among them there are not only harmonized with advanced international standards, but also completely unique, which have no analogues in the world. For example, adopted last year, a series of standards GOST 34594-2019 «Electromagnetic compatibility. Smart city».
