MOSCOW, September 23, 2020 – On September 22 the first meeting of the Russian-Iranian working group on cooperation in the field of standardization in the energy sector was held by a video conference. The Russian delegation was chaired by Deputy Head of Rosstandart Anton Shalaev, the Iranian delegation chaired Head of Department of Standardization and Technical Regulating of the Ministry of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mehram Mofakhami.
The meeting was attended by more than 30 experts. From Russian side – representatives of Rosstandart, Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, FSUE «STANDARTINFORM», VNIIR – branch of FSUE All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Metrology named after D.I. Mendeleev «VNIIM n. a. D.I. Mendeleev», «ZN Vostok LLC», Center for Certification of Explosion-proof and Mining Equipment, «GC Business Trend».
The decision to create the Working Group was made by the Ministers of both countries at the 15th meeting of the Permanent Russian-Iranian Commission on trade and economic cooperation and was fixed in the Implementation Plan of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of standardization and Metrology between Rosstandart and Iranian Institute of Standards and Industrial Research.
The main purpose of the Working Group – development of standardization issues to support successful implementation of the joint Russian-Iranian projects in the energy sector. The main tasks are exchange mechanism development, mutual recognition ensuring and joint development of the standardization documents between Russia and Iran. During the meeting, in particular, was agreed the basic procedure for harmonization of technical requirements for materials and equipment used
in the implementation of joint projects.
